A normal pumpable concrete(120 ± 25 mm slump) should be good enough for the slab structure. If concrete is not designed for higher slump, it may result in segregation and can cuse pipe line chocking. High slump concrete should not be considered as Self Compacting Concrete. Appropriate amount of compaction is must to ensure good quality of concrete in structure. Any incidence of over compaction may result in uneven distribution of aggregtes while undercompaction shall result in porous structure. Author - Anuj Maheshwari |
